Frequently Asked
Questions
Get answers to the most common questions about home elevation projects
Still Have Questions?
Our elevation experts are here to help. Get personalized answers about your specific situation.
Do I need to leave my home during elevation?
Yes, for your safety and to allow our team to work efficiently, you’ll need to relocate temporarily. Most elevation projects take 60-90 days depending on complexity. We’ll work with you to minimize disruption and provide timeline updates throughout the process.
Will utilities (electric, HVAC, plumbing) need to be disconnected? Who is responsible for that?
Titan is a one stop shop, we will handle all of this from start to finish.
How high will my home be elevated? Can I request a specific height?
Depending on how high your home currently is above sea level, we will raise it up to code.
What about cracks and settling after elevation?
Minor cosmetic cracks in drywall, stucco, or tile are normal and expected during elevation due to structural shifting. However, we take every precaution to minimize movement and stress on the structure. After elevation, any settling will be closely monitored, and we will provide support for necessary repairs or finishing work as part of the final phase.
Will this help with my flood insurance?
Absolutely. Elevating your home to or above FEMA-compliant levels can significantly reduce your flood insurance premiums. In some cases, homeowners save thousands annually. Once elevation is complete, we’ll provide the documentation needed (such as an updated Elevation Certificate) to submit to your insurance provider.
How long does the entire process take?
The total project timeline typically ranges from 6 to 12 weeks, depending on your home’s foundation type, permitting requirements, weather conditions, and any additional construction (e.g., new stairs, decks, utility rework). We provide a clear project schedule before starting, and keep you informed throughout every phase.
What happens to my landscaping and driveway?
While we take great care to protect your property, some landscaping elements (like shrubs, trees, or irrigation) and hardscape (like driveways or walkways) may need to be temporarily removed or altered to allow equipment access or foundation work. We’ll discuss this with you in advance and include restoration plans in your project scope, so your property looks great when the job is done.
